THE LANSING STATE JOURNAL
November 23, 2008
A big thank you from the South Side Community Coalition to the students at Michigan State University, Office of Cultural and Academics Transitions, for a job well done. They made the Coalition Halloween Party one of the best in years.

A special thank you has to go to Carlos Fuentes, and to Meaghan Kozar for pulling together volunteers from the following groups to make this a great hit with the 75 to 100 residents in attendance: the Asian Pacific American Student Organization; the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender Resource Center; the International Volunteer Action Corp.; the North American Indigenous Student Organization; Culturas de Las Razas Unidas; the Black Students Alliance; and the OCAT aides.

The Korean Drum Group had everyone clapping and keeping time with the music, plus everyone enjoyed the pizza, cider and cake. As every child left, they received a big bag of assorted candies.

Also, a big thank you goes to Yolanda Sherrer, our VISTA volunteer, for the great job she did getting this group together.
